The courts will be closed from Wednesday 8th to Friday 10th June to have more sand applied.
When the courts were re-laid last year, the manufacturer mistakenly supplied carpet with a 17 mm pile rather than the 15 mm that we'd ordered, and more sand should have been laid at the time to support the longer filaments in the carpet.
As we've been using the courts for about 15 months with insufficient sand, the individual filaments have been bent over and now need to be brushed up, which will be done by machine, and then several tons of sand will be added and brushed in, again by machine.
The work is scheduled to start on Wednesday 8th June and should take about 3 days to complete, although much depends on the weather. If the work is delayed or takes longer than planned, we will let you know promptly by email and by a news post on this website
